TWO sites on the edge of Buckfastleigh which between them could yield more than 100 new homes have been put forward to Dartmoor National Park Authority for consideration as housing land.

Martin Page, land director of Bristol and Truro based affordable housing specialist First Steps Homes, presented his company's plans to Buckfastleigh Town Council on Wednesday. If successful, he said it would be looking to work with the council and community.

A four-acre site off Holne Road could theoretically accommodate 60 homes but the lie of the land would make a small road frontage development a more likely scenario, he said.

The company has also submitted a second site for consideration in the authority's strategic housing land availability assessment, which considers housing need until 2026.<
