The annual Boxing Day game at Rackerhayes was boosted by a bumper crowd and a clubhouse fit to burst!
Year on year this fixture has been keenly supported by the Newton Abbot faithful, and this year there was no shortage of current and former players keen to turn out on the hallowed turf.
Club Stalwart Keith MacLean yet again came up trumps with two equally matched sides who entertained the crowd.
The game itself was well worth watching, the All Whites coming out on top courtesy of tries by Lee Rundle (two), Matt Dadd, Mike Saxton – who converted his own try – and finally Neil Johns.
The Exiles, who fielded current Exeter Chiefs' player Ed Lewsey, ran in three tries of their own, with Lewsey himself contributing two of them, the other coming from former All Whites number eight Bill Murphy.
Earlier, the 3rd XV defeated the Vets XV 12-5 in a closely fought affair. The tries for the 3rd XV were scored by from James Wolfe and Andy Bullivant, who converted his own try, with the Vets getting on the scoresheet through Ryan Wotton.
Tomorrow, Newton Abbot All Whites travel down to Brickfields to play the West Country Warriors, a game designed to keep them battle-hardened ahead of the vital home game against league leaders Taunton on Saturday, January 10.
