YOUNG and old have been shrinking the generation gap in Dawlish.
For more than a year Tempo Tots (run by Roots Community Enhancement CIC) have been holding weekly meetings at Sefton Hall nursing home.
Each week, up to 16 babies and tots sing, play and enjoy the company of the residents.
Sefton Hall activities coordinator Lisa said: ‘Our residents really enjoy the company of the little ones and proudly watch as they grow week after week.
The wife of one resident added: ‘My husband really comes alive when the children begin tapping the instruments and smiling.’
Director of Roots, Rosie Dawson, said: ‘The group has really grown and developed into a lovely little community.
‘We sing a variety of traditional songs that all three generations recognise – which is great for developing babies’ language skills and for the older people to reminisce.’
