POLICE are issuing a ‘dispersal zone’ in Teignmouth for 48 hours from tonight in response to increase incidents of anti-social behaviour.

The zone, under the Section 35 Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act, has been authorised for 48 hours from 6pm tonight to Sunday June 26, covering Teignmouth.

The Section 35 order officers to require people involved in anti-social behaviour to leave the area.

This is after an increase of reports of anti-social behaviour over the last three weeks.

During the time the order is effective, it is an offence to:

1. Fail to comply with direction given by police or PCSOs to disperse.

2. Fail to surrender items likely to cause anti-social behaviour at request of Police or PCSOs.

3. Return within specified period after directed to disperse.
