POLICE will kick off their patrols tonight as part of a campaign to crack down on anti-social behaviour in Teignmouth and Dawlish.
Both towns have been blighted by young trouble makers causing nuisance and disturbance to residents and visitors.
The weekend anti-social behaviour focussed patrols start tonight and are planned to continue until the end of the summer.
A police spokesman said: ‘We will be focusing on Teignmouth back beach, The Den and Dawlish Town centre.
‘The aim is to prevent issues we have had in the past and to deter those wanting to come to the towns to cause trouble.
'You may say this should be done everyday and in an ideal world you would be right.
‘These patrols will mean officers will stop all other work and focus on ASB when it is at its most prevalent.’
Police are urging parents to be aware of their children’s whereabouts during the weekends and evenings.
