POLICE are reminding parents to advise their children against trespassing on building sites.

The comes after the Neighbourhood Police Team for the Ashburton and Chudleigh area were made aware of young people entering the building site at Longstone cross in Bovey Tracey.

Despite the gates being secured, access was gained and criminal damage occurred, with plant machinery being interfered with also.

A spokesman for the Neighbourhood Police Team for Ashburton and Chudleigh said: ‘Building sites can be incredibly dangerous areas, with workers having to wear variety of safety clothing and equipment due to the risks.

‘Parents, please speak to your children and advise them against trespassing on any building site.

‘We don’t want to came to your door to let you know of your child’s injury.’
