POLICE are growing increasingly frustrated at seizing e-scooters.

There are around a dozen that have been seized due to people riding them on public roads and pavements, acording to the Police Commissioner’s Facebook page.

The olice say: ‘We want to remind people that riding an e-scooter on public roads and pavement is an offence under The Road Traffic Act 1988. Electric scooters can only be legally used in the UK on private land with the permission of the landowner.

‘There are currently no insurers who will insure these and so it will be seized for no insurance, which would mean a fixed penalty notice of £300 and six points on your driving licence.

‘If you do not hold a driving licence then the points will be held on a "shadow licence" and would be added to your full licence if/when you apply for one.

PLEASE NOTE: ‘Yes we do have better things to do so please stop riding them in public areas!’
