POLICE in Ashburton have had a busy week dealing with a variety of incidents, including seizing a BB gun, responding to road traffic collisions and much more besides.
The Ashburton and Chudleigh Policing Team shared a snapshot of what its officers have been up to this past week.
Officers issued a Child Abduction Warning Notice (CAWN) to a male found associating with a young person, seized a BB gun and gas canisters from a male causing concern in the area and recalled a male back to prison following further offending and bad behaviour in Buckfastleigh.
Police also carried out safeguarding for a vulnerable adult in Bovey Tracey, linking them with a local charity to reduce isolation and provide ongoing support, as well as conducting a youth intervention in Chudleigh, working positively to prevent behaviour from escalating.
Officers continued their partnership work with local secondary schools and shops to tackle and prevent shoplifting in Ashburton and completed urgent Crown Prosecution Service work for an upcoming Crown Court trial, including CCTV editing and file preparation.
And finally, officers supported colleagues from fellow emergency services with two road traffic collisions in one day.
One incident involved a male being run over by his own vehicle, while the second was a serious collision involving two motorbikes on the A382 to Moretonhampstead.
A spokesperson for the team said: ‘We remain committed to protecting the community, supporting those in need, and tackling crime and antisocial behaviour.
‘If you have concerns or information, please do not hesitate to get in touch’.
