TWO men wanted in connection with Friday’s [May 2] incident at Teignmouth’s Back Beach that saw a young male assaulted have been located by police.

Devon and Cornwall Police’s urgent appeal to the public to help locate Terry Mitchell and Edward Mitchell bore fruit last night, Monday, May 5, as the force says the town have been located.

‘Thank you to everyone who shared our appeal’ a spokesperson for the force said.

Terry Michell, 46 from Witheridge in North Devon and Edward Mitchell, 44, from Paignton, were wanted in connection to reports of a serious assault.

Officers were called to reports of a young male being attacked by four people with weapons at approximately 8.45pm on Back Beach, Teignmouth.

The incident was a part of wider disorder at the popular spot in the town, up to 100 people were present, though the bulk were not involved.

Following initial enquiries, two males were arrested on suspicion of assault.

One has been released with no further action being taken, the other released on police bail.
