ANTI-Brexit campaigners have arrived in Newton Abbot town centre today to urge voters to adopt tactical voting in next week’s General Election.

Devon for Europe, which is part of Britain for Europe have set up shop on Courtenay Street to urge Teignbridge voters to vote Lib-Dem in a tactical attempt to stop Brexit. They hope to unseat sitting Conservative MP Anne Marie Morris as part of their strategy to elect as many pro European Union MP’s as possible.

John Munford of Devon for Europe said: ‘We are a non-political-party organisation, we don’t support any one politician, we vote as a strategy to keep the United Kingdom in the European Union.’

‘Tactical voting is going on all over the country, the national campaign says that voting for Lib Dem in the Newton Abbot constituency is the best way to stop Brexit’ Added Mr Munford.

The candidates standing for the Newton Abbot constituency are:

Megan Debenham (Green Party)

David Halpin (Independent)

Anne Marie Morris (Conservatives)

James Osben (Labour)

Martin Wrigley (Liberal Democrats)
