LIB Dem Jackie Brodie was victorious in Newton Abbot north but it was a close run thing with Tory Phil Bullivant hot on her heels. There were only 137 votes between the pair but Cllr Brodie, who is also a sitting district councillor, pipped fellow distric member Cllr Bullivant to the post. After the result was announced, she thanked everyone who voted for her. She said: ‘We have all been working hard for everybody and from tomorrow, I will continue the work I have been doing as a district councillor.’
