TUESDAY will be the last day for candidates hoping to contest the May 4 county council elections to submit their nominations.

A list of all the hopefuls standing in the upcoming election will be published on April 5.

People will get the chance to go to polling stations across Devon to determine who will occupy the 60 seats up for grabs.

In Teignbridge, there will be voting in 10 wards – Newton Abbot North, Ashburton and Buckfastleigh, Newton Abbot South, Chudleigh Rural, Teign Estuary, Dawlish, Exminster and Kenton, Teignbridge South, Bovey Tracey Rural and Teignmouth.

Devon County Council is currently run by the Conservatives under its leader Cllr John Hart.

The polls open at 7am on May 4 and close at 10pm. Teignbridge’s counting will start at 10am the following day at Newton Abbot Racecourse.
