AS part of the campaign to select the next Prime Minister, Newton Abbot was visited by candidate Liz Truss.

A programme of visits to meet with local farmers, young Conservatives and local Conservative Party members was arranged by Phil Bullivant, chairman of the Newton Abbot Conservative Association.

Liz paid a visit to a farm in Teigngrace and  meeting with more than 70 local members from the district at the Passage House Hotel.

Young Conservatives were represented by Newton Abbot Town Councillor Alex Hall, who had the opportunity to discuss local issues with Liz Truss before Liz left to attend the Hustings arranged for Exeter that evening.

Rishi Sunak also visited the area calling on Totnes and Crealy, again to meet local people and hear of the specific issues facing the South West.

Newton Abbot MP Anne MArie Morris also met Liz while she was in town and has backed her in the Leadership campaign.
