THOUSANDS of people from all across Teignbridge headed to the polling stations today.

Residents in Newton Abbot were out and about early, queuing outside the Mary Rose Centre in Buckland ahead of the polling station’s 7am opening.

Amongst the first to cast their votes in the General Election at St Paul’s Church was Rachael Horne and Fraser Walker.

In Newton Abbot a total of 71,721 residents signed up to put a cross through the box. Follow the election results on our website tomorrow.
