ASHBURTON. The annual Port-reeve's Poppy Ball, in the Ashburton Town Hall, was attended by almost 70 people and resulted in £918.50 being raised for the Poppy Appeal.
On Sunday, October 31, it was the end of season event in the RBL hut, from which the Poppy Appeal benefited by £384.
Residents are, once again, proving to be very generous and, to date, this year's Poppy Appeal has raised more than £7,481.
Press officer Karen Turner said a big thank you was due to all those who had stood for many hours in the town selling poppies, including the Army Cadets.
