Snooker champion Ray Reardon teamed up with Macmillan Cancer Support to ask people in south Devon to support its biggest annual fundraising event. He joined Bovey Tracey's Kelly Hayman-Bruce, Macmillan's area chairman for south Devon at the launch of the charity's World's Biggest Coffee Morning. Macmillan Cancer Support wants people to come forward and support the fundraiser. Organisers are confident of success as they say south Devon is a real coffee morning 'hot spot' area. The event, launched in 1990, has grown to become the charity's largest fundraising event, generating millions to fund vital cancer services. Although the official World's Biggest Coffee Morning day is on September 30, Macmillan is happy for people to hold events on a day that suits them. Six times world champion snooker player Ray Reardon said: 'I am delighted to support the launch of the World's Biggest Coffee Morning – according to the Guinness Book of Records, it is the world's largest simultaneous party! 'In the past 12 months, our golf club has raised thousands of pounds for Macmillan and I would urge people throughout south Devon to hold their own coffee morning in their homes, work places or in the local community.'
