A CRACK team of first aiders from clay firm Sibelco has been praised by the emergency services for its prompt help in responding to a head-on crash at Kingsteignton in which three people were badly injured.
The casualties suffered serious fractures in the collision near the entrance to the Preston Manor Works on the claypits road, which was closed for eight hours while police, paramedics and fire crews dealt with the incident.
One of the victims – 27-year-old Sophie Taylor, from Chudleigh – was nursed at the scene by her father Pete Watkins, whom she had alerted on her mobile phone moments after the smash just before 5pm last Thursday.
