PREPARATIONS are getting underway in Dawlish to celebrate King Charles’ III Coronation.

This morning, the marquee is being erected on the Lawn near the bowling green.

Events start tomorrow evening with a Vigil Service being held in the marquee from 5pm.

Entertainment, competitions and celebrations continue over the weekend with a programme of events organised by Dawlish Town Council, volunteers and community groups to mark the occasion.

Saturday will see a screening of the Coronation live on a large screen on the Lawn, starting from 11am.

Over the weekend, there will be a Big Coronation Lunch on Sunday and performances from Torbay Brass Band, High Cs choir, Dawlish College choir, Dawlish Rock Choir and Maddy and the Chaps.

Most of the events will be taking place on the Lawn, organised by Dawlish Town Council with help from many volunteers, local groups and organisations.

All events are weather-permitting and subject to change.
