Yet another Kingsteignton mother writes: As one Kingsteignton mother to another, (letters, May 19) no one with an ounce of common sense would have been in any doubt that councillors can have strong opinions. we didn't need the benefit of Labour's £10 million quango, the so-called Standards Board, to tell us. But then, I don't believe this had anything to do with the Local Development Framework, imposed on Teignbridge Council by the Labour government, and everything to do with a Labour activist using the Standards Board to try to pillory leading Liberal Democrat councillors a year before local elections. The Labour leadership of KREAG didn't wait for the Standards Board's ruling before putting reports in the press and in a leaflet to Kingsteignton residents, despite the Standards Board itself condemning such despicable practices. No wonder our parish councillors don't want to talk to KREAG. if they don't give the right answer they'll have their reputations questioned, with a well-publicised complaint to the Standards Board. I trust if KREAG leaders have any integrity, they will be delivering a leaflet to every home in Kingsteignton announcing the councillors have been cleared and will be apologising to the councillors concerned.
