CLIMATE protesters were out in force at Teignbridge District Council headquarters this morning (Tuesday) as the planning committee pondered the decision of permitting a gas-fired power plant at Heathfield.
Activists from Extinction Rebellion and Action on Climate Teignbridge made their feelings clear at the entrance to Newton Abbot’s Forde House as councillors and officers arrived for the meeting.
Hundreds of people have objected to plans for a new gas-fired power station, saying it contradicts the climate emergency which has just been declared in the area.This morning the planning committee unanimously rejected plans for the gas-fired power station at Heathfield.
