POLICE have knocked a dent in the drugs supply chain in Teignbridge after a £10,000 cash and cannabis raid at Heathfield.

Officers seized the haul as part of a pre-Christmas blitz on crime across south Devon.

Drugs paraphernalia was also confiscated during the swoop which was part of Operation Reindeer, a coordinated police attack on the local drugs culture together with burglaries and the handling of stolen goods.

A man in his 40s was arrested in the wake of the police strike in Heathfield. He was quizzed by officers and later released on bail pending further inquiries.

Police are urging householders to be especially vigilant during Christmas to prevent stealing from homes.

Anyone suspecting criminal activity should ring police on 101.
