THE rundown Carlton Theatre building on Teignmouth seafront is set to be flattened and replaced by a £7million landmark complex.

The idea has been kicked around for years, but now the various bodies involved have agreed a design, and planning permission will be sought early in the new year.

It will provide an iconic, modern building that will continue with the regeneration of the town, especially the seafront area.
