THERE’S to be a new chairman at South Devon Railway Trust, and the first woman on its board of directors.
Barry Cogar will be appointed chairman at the end of this year, on the retirement of Alan Taylor, who has completed 25 years’ service at the helm.
Mr Cogar, who lives in Paignton, has been involved with the Buckfastleigh to Totnes line since 1965, initially as one of the railway’s first volunteers before being appointed the line’s first general manager, when it was owned and operated by the Dart Valley Railway.
