TWENTY-two-year-old Rebekah Willcox is getting ready to embark on a 8.5-mile run in a bid to raise money for charity.

Next month the Newton Abbot resident will be on a dash from Brixham Harbour to Torquay Harbour and raise money for Breast Cancer Care.

The charity is close to her heart as Rebekah’s mother, Julie Stow, was diagnosed with breast cancer when Rebekah was in her mid-teens.

‘I now feel like it is time to help pay the charity back for all its hard work,’ she said.

‘I know it is going to be a difficult and challenging run. However, with will and determination by my side I know I will make it to the end.

‘I can’t wait to do it and to show my mum and my friends that this charity means a lot to me and prove to myself that I can do what I want.’

The carer will be undergoing the gruelling challenge on August 20.
