SAVE Our Hospital Services pressure group is making a human ‘red line’ around Torbay Hospital’s Women’s Health Unit tomorrow (April 1) to protest against plans to axe 14 of its beds.

 

The South Devon contingent of the countywide group is meeting at the hospital’s Lowes Bridge entrance at 1pm, to form the human line at the unit. Other lines are being created at hospitals across Devon.

 

SOHS campaigner Cllr Andy Stokes, of Buckfastleigh Town Council, said: ‘The NHS managers are planning the dissection and dismantling of Devon’s NHS hospital services, cutting or privatising wherever they can.
