AN octogenarian from Hennock has been given a British Empire Medal in the New Year Honours, marking her selfless service to the village and Bickington.

June Brown, pictured left, has allowed her land to be used for functions to help pay for repairs to the Hennock Village Hall, and has been involved with Bickington Tuesday Club for more than 20 years.
