FUNDRAISERS who collected more than £50,000 to help refurbish threatened Ashburton and Buckfastleigh Hospital say health chiefs are 'morally obliged' to return the money they worked so hard to collect from the community.
Ashburton and Buckfastleigh League of Friends says it is 'very angry' at Torbay and Southern Devon Health and Care NHS Trust's plans to move the in-patient facility at the hospital to the new one in Newton Abbot.
Chairman Maureen Roose complained this week: 'These funds are raised through the hard work of our league of friends together with contributions which are generously made to us through donations and legacies from our community, for which we are extremely grateful.<
