A MAN killed in collision with a car outside Bovey Tracey earlier this month was named by police today (Wed, Oct 17) as 37-year-old Craig Harris from the town.
Pedestrian Mr Harris, originally from Scotland, died after an accident involving a Dacia car on Bovey Straights. The vehicle was driven by a 47-year-old man.
Emergency services were called to the tragic scene just before 2.30am on October 6.
Mr Harris was confirmed dead at the scene. The affected section of the A382 was closed for six hours for forensic investigation.
An inquest was opened by coroner Philip Spinney in Exeter last Friday to take formal evidence of identity.
A full hearing will be heard at a later date.
Mr Harris’s next of kin are being supported by a specially appointed Police Liaison Officer.
