THE clash between science and Christianity will be discussed by a leading scientist at a special event in Dawlish in March.

Prof John Bryant, an expert in cell and molecular biology at Exeter University, will discuss the role of science in the Christian world at two meetings in the town.

The first, on March 5, will look at the apparent clash of science and faith in subjects like evolution.

A week later, on March 12, he will explore how Christians should respond to issues like genetic engineering and cloning, and whether there are areas of research that could be classed as wrong.

Both discussions will be hosted by Dawlish Christian Fellowship. Richard Mason, group leader, welcomed Prof Bryant, adding: 'This is a rare opportunity to hear a leading scientist share his views about science and Christianity.'

meetings will start at 8pm at on March 5 and 12.
