FRESH after the local elections, Bovey Tracey Town Council has appointed its new mayor and deputy mayor for the coming year.

Cllr Sheila Brook is continuing her tenure as town mayor, and new councillor Martyn Evans assumed the mantle as deputy.

All council sets were uncontested in the recent elections, and there are still two seats remaining vacant for someone wanting to represent Heathfield.
