Children from Oaklands Park School, Dawlish, have planted a Royal oak as part of the Woodland Trust's Jubilee Woods project.

Joined by Annie Raine, chairman of the school governors, Bob Pugh, headmaster, and David Rickwood, Devon site manager for the Woodland Trust, children from across the school joined in.

The school has also planted a celebratory hedgerow to celebrate the Queen's 60 years on the throne and a very special oak tree sapling.

Adam Davison, project lead at Oaklands Park, said: 'We are absolutely delighted that an oak tree that has originated from the Queen's Estate will join the mighty oaks at Oaklands.
