Another old piece of Newton Abbot has bitten the dust as the town's regeneration continues.

Residents in Brownhills Road were shocked to see the former Highweek Boys' School disappear under the bulldozers, the Victorian building reduced to rubble in a matter of days.

Few people in the area seemed to know about the plan.

One woman, who asked not to be named, said: 'I don't know how they were allowed to get away with it. We thought it was listed.
