SEA cadets are interested in a joint venture with Shaldon Regatta Committee to take over the redundant village ferry workshop.
The valuable building and site could be flogged off to the highest bidder by Teignbridge Council, and fall into the hands of a developer and turned into a luxury home.
The regatta folk have launched a campaign to save it for community use, and now local sea cadets, who operate an official harbour patrol, might join them in a junior role and inject 'substantial funds' to help buy it.
