POLICE are appealing for help in tracing a 57-year-old man who has gone missing from his home in Teignmouth.

They say Kenneth Jefferies, of Shimmels Yard, who is described as being at ‘high risk,’ has not been seen since Tuesday.

PC Matt Gill, of Newton Abbot police, said Mr Jefferies had not been in the Teignmouth area very long and his family was concerned for his safety because it was completely out of character.

‘He has gone off with some camping gear – a four-man black and red tent,’ he said.

It is believed he was wearing a long knee-length black coat, with black Jeans and dap shoes. He would have been carrying a black rucksack with a small brass ornament attached to the zip.

Mr Jefferies, who wears spectacles, is described as 5ft 10ins, of medium build, has short black greying hair and a tattoo on his left wrist with the word Kim. He also has a distinctive pigmentation of his skin.

Anyone who has seen Mr Jefferies, or spots the black and red tent – possibly in woods in the area – is asked to contact the police on 101 quoting the reference Log 32 of October 29.
