The owner of a listed cottage in Kennford has had to apply for planning permission to keep the bright pink paint scheme she likes.
A complaint was made about the finish of Ann Kennedy's Lantern Cottage in late 2011, after which officers from Teignbridge Council paid her a visit.
They said the tone was too bright for the period property and set official wheels in motion.
Now Mrs Kennedy is having to seek a formal approval if she is to avoid calling the decorators back in.
A council spokesman said: 'In November 2011 we received a formal complaint regarding the colour of the grade II listed cottage in Kennford.
