SHALDON Singers return to rehearsals this week, singing one of the best-known and best-loved works in the choral tradition: Handel’s Messiah.

Containing many familiar choruses and solos, including the Hallelujah Chorus, Handel’s oratorio has rarely been out of the choral repertoire since its first performance in 1742.

Shaldon Singers – a friendly, non-auditioned choir, singing a wide range of classical music – are always welcoming to new members.

Rehearsals, under musical director Tim Crompton, are at St Peter’s Church in Shaldon on Thursday evenings.

If you are interested in joining the choir to sing this choral masterpiece and would like to know more, please go to www.shaldonsingers.co.uk, or email [email protected].
