TRAIN services between Newton Abbot and Paignton were disrupted on Monday after signalling problems.

Great Western Railway thought everything would be running as usual by 3pm on Monday but at 5pm there were still delays of up to 15 minutes due to the ongoing problems.

It was 6.28am on Monday when the railway company first posted the following to social media: ‘There is a signal failure between Newton Abbot and Paignton.

‘Services may be altered or cancelled, engineers are on site.’

Network Rail, which maintains the railway infrastructure, said delays can be expected until 8pm on Monday.
