St PETER’S Church, Shaldon, hosted the annual Christmas Concert staged by Shaldon Singers, on Saturday, which raised £456 for the Alice Cross Centre, Teignmouth, writes Viv Wilson.

With up to 80 singers in the limelight and a fulsome audience, the scene was set for some splendid music making.

The pair of king pins who ensure that the performance is of a high musical standard were Aubrey Maybin, who accompanied with piano and organ, and musical director, Nigel Crabtree. Their combined degree of experience draws the finest from the choir.
