SLIMMING World members from Teignbridge recently took part in Race for Life to raise money for charity.

There were more than 400 events taking place across the UK this year between May 3 and July 27 – with 3K, 5K and 10K, and Pretty Muddy events available.

Money raised through Race for Life events helps fund Cancer Research UK’s world-class research in to over 200 types of cancer.

And slimmers across Teignbridge were among this year’s participants, opting to take part in a Pretty Muddy obstacle course.

Slimming World Consultant Julie Scoines, who runs the Newton Abbot groups, said: ‘There were 20 members who took part... all became more active after losing weight with Slimming World and were wanting to make a difference to a fabulous charity’.

One slimmer described Race for Life as a ‘really enjoyable event’, while another said that it ‘felt good to see so many people raising funds for an incredible charity’.

Slimming World was founded by Margaret Miles-Bramwell OBE in Derbyshire in 1969.

It is the UK leading weight loss organisation.
