SNOW and ice has hit large areas of Dartmoor over the weekend and today, as the Met Office put out snow and ice warnings for last night, continuing this week. The Met Office's warning for today reads: 'Ice likely to cause difficult driving conditions at first this morning. Icy stretches on some roads, pavements and cycle paths. Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces.'

Mark Shackleton took these snaps yesterday morning on the Hamel Ridge, near Grimspound.
Mark said: 'I took the photos on Hamel Ridge which is 490 metres high so most of the rain fell as snow - drifts were up to foot where we live nearby and had a good 2 inches which is still lying here this morning.'
