The next phase of traffic management on the South Devon Link Road Project has been announced and will commence on Monday.
From Monday to Friday 19th February, one lane will be closed on the northbound carriageway (Newton Abbot-bound) of the new South Devon Highway (the A380) between Maddacombe Road Overbridge and the Kingskerswell off-slip road.
To minimise disruption to road users, the closure will only be in place between 9:30am and 4pm.
This traffic management is necessary to carry out essential work to address issues that have arisen due to excessive and sustained wet weather.
In addition, a programme of works taking place on embankments adjacent to roads in the Aller Cross Junction area will commence on Monday. These works require a short series of off-peak lane and road closures to ensure the safety of the workforce.
A temporary closure will be in place on the new Aller Link Road, between Aller Roundabout and the new Hazel Bank mini roundabout. This will be in effect during off-peak hours from 9.30am to 4pm from Monday to Friday, and then again on Monday, February 22. Traffic will be diverted along the adjacent Aller Road during these hours.
Elsewhere, the lane closures at the new Edginswell and Kerswell Gardens junctions will continue for a further two weeks to enable barrier installation.
This traffic management phase will also see the reopening of the section of Newton Road (the old A380) between the Romany Jones junction and Aller Roundabout. This section of road has been closed for the last five weeks (as previously announced) following a major programme of construction and resurfacing works.
These works are weather-dependent and may be subject to revision.
