BACK in time at Teignmouth – Viv Wilsons’ latest presentation at the Pavilions was a sell-out and has been hailed as one of her best in the 37 years of annual shows about the town.
Bad timing brought a nasty bug upon Viv one week before and as it was still hanging around on the day, she delivered the show from behind the scenes.
Usually, she is at the front and would have been there for a special presentation of a large tome about the life of Frank C Morgan Giles - ship builder - the man who put Teignmouth on the map.
The author, Jane Shaddick is a granddaughter of Frank and wished to acknowledge the help that Viv has provided to her over the past 30 years.
In the interests of public well-being, the book was handed over behind the scenes after the show.
Jane is also donating a copy to Teign Heritage for the people of Teignmouth to enjoy in the years to come.
A remarkable book, its the result of many years work and is due out next month.
Still trying to beat the infection off, Viv is lying low, content that divine intervention somehow enabled her to complete the two-hour narration.
This show will repeat on Saturday, October 21, at the Pavilions.
