FEARS of speeding traffic in Bovey Tracey prompted police to carry out speed checks on vehicles.

PCSOs Paul Wilson and James Yates conducted monitoring checks in Le Molay Littry Way following concerns by residents that cars were regularly driving above the 30mph speed limit.

More than 100 vehicles were checked of which one was spotted doing between 40 and 45mph.

Of the others, 36 were travelling between 31 and 35mph and seven were going at between 36 and 40mph.

Sgt Mark Ruston explained: ‘The team have attended there on numerous occasions recently to complete enforcement and a small number of offences have been dealt with.
