THE RITES of Spring were celebrated in Bovey Tracey over the weekend as the annual Green Man Spring Festival took place.

Saturday (April 28th) saw a multitude of Morris sides descend on the town to help celebrate in the Spring with music and dance.

Following an opening ceremony by the mayor, the Green Man, accompanied by Little Twig and the May Queen, lead 18 Morris sides in procession through the town to mark a day long festival of dance, music, food….and the odd liquid libation or two.
