THE STREETS of Teignmouth were alive with music and dance last weekend as the town’s annual homage to all things folk got underway.
Teignmouth Folk Festival, now celebrating it’s 25th year, saw folk dancers, musicians and singers doing what they best, as the town welcomed an array of talented folk.
The festival kicked off on Saturday morning with the City of Plymouth Pipe Band officially staring the event and this was followed by tintinnabulation bells and clash of sticks as Morris sides took to the streets.
Music, song and dance, sessions were in abundance throughout the town, including numerous free events as well as workshops and three evening concerts featuring The Rosie Hood Band, Nancy Kerr & James Fagan, and Dartmoor folk choir The Lost Sound took place at St James’ Church.
