A DEVON hospice has had a welcome boost to its coffers thanks to the charity efforts of a Teignbridge pub.
Staff and regulars at The Star Inn, Liverton started fundraising back in August of last year - and last week handed over the tidy sum of £1,724.04 to Rowcroft Hospice.
‘We chose Rowcroft after one our regulars Tina Corbett passed away last year,’ said publican Louise Standing.
’Tina was a keen wildlife photographer and we created a wildlife calendar using her images and were selling them to raise funds.
‘We’ve also had numerous meat and dinner draws, bingo, raffles, a big prize draw at Christmas and one of regulars Pete even had his head shaved. It’s been lots of little events but they’ve all added up.
‘And I must say the support from our regulars has been absolutely amazing throughout. They have been fantastic.’
