WEDNESDAY’S heavy rainfall and gloomy weather wreaked havoc in the Newton Abbot area with travel disruptions, flooding, trees blowing down and more, as Storm Frank battered the district.
Abbotskerswell residents grabbed sandbags to waterproof their houses in parts of the village as best they could.
One resident, Jordan Kerr, who snapped the moment when water rushed down the main road, said the level built up so much that it was touching the registration plate of his car. Priory Road was impassable for a time.
There was reports of flooding elsewhere across the district, see today’s paper for full story.
