Dainton Park's outgoing captain Laurel Clifford and the new ladies' captain Sue Elson are pictured enjoying a glass of wine after the annual meeting, when the captaincy was handed over for 2009.

Sue will be starting off her year with her Drive In on November 25 and her chosen competition will be a flag competition. She has invited the ladies taking part to join her for a celebratory drink in the 19th afterwards.

Ann Shuttleworth is the new vice-captain.

Laurel has enjoyed a successful year, raising in excess of £1,000 for her charity, Breast Cancer Awareness.

It is a charity close to the hearts of the ladies at Dainton and, for this reason, Sue Elson will be continuing with Breast Cancer Awareness as her charity for her year in office.

Meanwhile, on the playing side, a couple of friendly greensome competitions have been held to enable the ladies to have fun and, it is hoped, not too much hard work in the wet, windy and heavy going conditions out on the course.

The first victors were Anthea Huber and Lucy Nelson, with Ann Shuttleworth and Jenny Rowe finishing first in the other. Each pair receives Marks & Spencer vouchers.
