A COMMUNITY fridge has expressed its gratitude after having received a sizeable donation of goods from a local supermarket.

Ashburton Community Fridge took to its Facebook page today, June 12, to thank Co-op Food in Here Park, Newton Abbot, for its donations of goods, including several punnets of strawberries.

A spokesman for Ashburton Community Fridge said: 'Very many thanks to Paul Watkins, manager and all the helpful staff at Co-op Food at Here Park for all the lovely bakery goods, fruit, vegetables and flowers.

'It is very much appreciated.'

Located behind the town hall, Ashburton Community Fridge aims to reduce food waste by making surplus food freely available to all residents of the town.
