A Newton Abbot resident has said South West Water should explain more clearly new rules which could save householders from having to fork out thousands of pounds if their sewers need repairs or become blocked.,
Pete Fordham, of Keyberry Road, said he and his neighbours had been looking at a bill of £6,000 to clear a pipe that serves their four properties.,
Shocked at the cost, he set about getting quotes from other contractors only to be told that changes to legislation last October meant that water companies were now responsible for shared sewerage outlets and that he and his neighbours might not have to spend a penny on repairs.,
